Netflix South Africa – Strong Black Lead Initiative
Delmaine Donson was selected by Netflix South Africa as one of three artists commissioned for their Strong Black Lead campaign. The initiative celebrated iconic Black lead characters through visual art, and Delmaine’s piece focused on Nola Darling from She’s Gotta Have It. Her illustration captured the character’s fearless independence and unapologetic femininity. Reflecting on the campaign, Delmaine described a Strong Black Lead as “someone who can inspire change.
